Ethical Situation

I recently went to purchase some items at CVS. When I was finished with my purchase, I walked out to my car and looked at my receipt. I noticed that one of the items was not on the receipt, but in the bag. I said to myself that, I need to go back in there and tell the cashier that he didn't scan one of the items. When I went back into the store to tell the cashier what had happened, he was so surprised that I came back in and thanked me. He actually gave me a discount on what I purchased. So, it does pay to be honest.
